About HIVEJacked:                                                                                                                                                                                            At the start of the 2020/21 Festive Season HIVEArts staged ‘HIVEJacked, The Tram Stop Takeover’ along the famous Blackpool Promenade.   This created an unprecedented unique, outdoor art exhibition in a time where indoor exhibitions and galleries were closed to the public.   This Covid secure gallery can be freely visited by the people of Blackpool.   The HIVEJacked exhibition runs the full length of the promenade from North Pier through to South Pier showing large-scale works of 28 members of Blackpool’s thriving arts community, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognised.

When & Where:                                                                                                                                                                                            The HIVEJack Exhibition opened on 18 December ’20, originally intended to run until 4 January ’21. However, after amazing feedback and public demand, the exhibition has been extended until the end of January ’21.   Building on previous successful local and national exhibitions, including shows with international artists held at HIVEBpl this project has brought a free open-air art exhibition, accessible to all, to the Blackpool promenade in the winter months.   The success of this exhibition means that further Tram Stop HIVEJacks are planned across 2021 with full support from HIVEBpl, the local council and Bpl Transport.

Who:                                                                                                                                                                                                                  All artists involved have previously worked and exhibited with local community arts groups HIVEArts and Arrested ReDevelopment.
