As a social species we rely on a safe, secure social surroundings to survive and thrive. Perceptions of social isolation, or loneliness increase vigilance for threat and heighten feelings of vulnerability while also raising the desire to reconnect.

Though many of the HIVEArts art group have remained in contact throughout the lockdown via social media we have all been looking forward to connecting once again and chatting over coffee.

This exhibition is a collective expression of the solitude and loneliness many felt during these strange times of lockdown.
